Intensity Vs. Consistency

I know that for myself one idea that I struggle with business development is the idea of Intensity Vs. Consistency.

It’s the beginning of the new year.  Many people are setting goals yet have challenges with seeing them through until the end.  Well its really a function of attitude.  I think I heard it said that people overestimate what they can do in one year, and underestimate what they can do in five years.

I know with me training martial artists for most my life, the people I get most concerend about are the people who dive head first into training,  almost becoming too passionate.  They seem to burn out.   Very quickly.

Its sort of like that parable where the student ask the Zen Master “Master how long will it take to reach enlightenment if I meditate 1 hour a day.  The master replies to the student “It will take you ten years”.  The students says”Ok, well how long will it take if I mediate 4 hour a day”  The master said “30 years”.  The point is sometimes less is more and when we take a deep look at how how business is being shaped on an ongoing basis.  Its far more important than a week of good work and then back to business as usual.

Take an hour a day and devote to creating, assigning and managing your business.  At the end of a year you will create huge growth and you level of stress will decrease if you do it the right way.
